WOMEN Film-makers of Zimbabwe (WFOZ) last week presented 10 awards during the International Images Film Festival for Women – Ndichirimupenyu Awards – to honour individuals who have excelled in various disciplines.

Noteworthy in this year’s edition of the awards was that they were also given to men who have played a role in empowering women.
The IIFF awards ceremony took place at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, where the co-Minister of Home Affairs Theresa Makoni graced the occasion.

Minister Makoni also presented the Ndichirimupenyu Awards.
Below is a list of individuals who were privileged on that night:

The awards came at a time when Zimbabwe joins the rest of the world to commemorate the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence.
The awards ceremony was an effort to recognise the noble work being done by women in line with the Women with Goals theme.
