Another arrest has been made in the ongoing legal drama surrounding prominent Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel.
Andre St. John, otherwise called “Mad Suss” was arrested and charged in a murder case involving mentor, Vybz Kartel. St. John is a member of Kartel’s Portmore Empire group, the second member of the “Gaza” camp to be charged regarding the August killing of Clive “Lizard” Williams, a dancer from Waterford, St. Catherine.
St. John was held by police during the September 30 operation where Kartel, Alicia Jackson and Shane Williams were arrested and charged with possession of ganja at a small New Kingston hotel. On Monday morning, St. John was officially charged with murder and shooting with intent in relation to the death of Williams. Kartel, fellow Portmore Empire protégé, Shawn Storm, Calvin “Moonie” Haye and Cayro Jones are also jointly charge in Williams’ murder. The next hearing in the case will take place on December 2.
Meanwhile, reports have circulated that Vybz Kartel’s common-law wife, Tanesha “Shorty” Johnson may also have been arrested in relation to Kartel’s legal troubles. According to said reports, Shorty was hauled out of the same New Kingston hotel where Kartel’s initial arrest was made. The arrest was allegedly made this past weekend.
Shorty has three children for Vybz Kartel and last was seen publicly during an interview with CVM TV’s D’Wrap, where she intimated that law enforcement officials purposefully tried to humiliate the deejay and his family. Furthermore, Shorty revealed that Kartel’s children and mother have had troubles coping since the first murder charge against the deejay was laid out October 3rd; implying that she’s had to seek counseling to deal with the resulting emotional backlash.
