T.I. says that he does not owe anyone an explanation for his behaviour which led to his prison sentence, because he is only human.
The rapper was released from a halfway house last week following an 11-month prison sentence for violating his parole. While many were shocked that he had ended up in prison again, Tip says he does not have to explain his actions to anyone. “I owe that to myself. I really don’t owe anyone any explanation,” he said in his first post-prison interview with Atlanta’s V-103 radio station.
“I think I had to grow to that point. I can’t live for y’all. Y’all like my music and I appreciate that. Y’all like me as a person and I appreciate that wholeheartedly. However, I don’t owe all these explanations to all these different people I don’t even know.
Tip explains that he has his family’s needs first and says that he has their interests at heart. “If you have disagreements with the way I move, with the way I operate, that’s fine, you’re entitled to it. But at the end of the day, I got to live my life for these people.”
“For my family, for my children, and I’m going to do what’s best for them.”
