Organisers of the Miss Harare beauty pageant have introduced text voting for this year’s edition of Harare’s premier beauty contest.
The pageant, which is pencilled in for December 23 at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, will see members of the public voting for their favourite models by sending the model’s number to 0776 402 405.
The model that receives the most votes will then be announced on the grand finale on December 23.
The 30 contestants are now vying for the Miss Harare, First Princess, Second Princess, Miss Personality and the People’s Choice.
Only the top four models will go through to participate in the Miss Zimbabwe national finals.
Licence holder of the Miss Harare pageant Deborah Chidavaenzi said they wanted to make the competition more interactive and exciting by involving the public.
“We want the public to join in the fun. The people should have their say in this competition, so we are giving them the chance to do so”, she said.
Tomorrow, organisers of the pageant will host a dinner at a local hotel to raise funds for the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe. “We are aligned to the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe so we will be assisting in the awareness of cervical cancer”.
Zimbabwean R&B sensation Audious Mtawarira, who is based in Australia, is billed to entertain guests at the dinner dance.
